A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
MontyB, We are here to make sure that you get through NaNo in one piece. I can't promise you won't pull your hair out, or go completely grey by the end of week two but no worries, I know a great place to buy the cutest wigs. We will get through this together my friend. Remember worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere! Try not to think about 50k in 30 days or NaNo at all. You need simply to focus on 1,667 words per day. That is all and if you can do that then it will all fall into place nicely for you. Tie up and gag your inner editor, accept that first drafts are essentially crap for the most part. With of course some amazing hidden gems you will find in your editing where you will say...Did I really write that? Wow, that is really great! it will be said with pride and happiness not sarcasm. Once you give yourself permission to write badly, to focus on quantity not quality your creativity will flow like never before. Amazing and counter intuitive but you will find that by focusing on quantity that quality finds its way there as well. Showing up is more than half the battle. You got it, just show up and write the rest will take care of itself! ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Proud Member of My Groups |
