The Church definitely maintains a lot of the same symbolism as the one in our world does. But all of it was pretty much invented as a way to...not control the people, but to make the lesson the Church needed to teach that much easier to grasp. It's basically the Roman Catholic Church and, in this world, the Protestant reformation never happened, nor did the Schism. The Bible was compiled in exactly the same way as it was in this world, but with new stories written specifically for the new book. But there's a lot less emphasis on no homosexuality, no contraceptives, etc. The Church doesn't really care about how people live their lives in this world, so long as they don't do magick or consort with demons/become Otherkin. The governance of this world is left to the governments of this world. So no excommunication, no Popes promoting the assassination of world leaders, etc. If a world leader were harboring Witches, the country would simply no longer enjoy the protections of the Church and its Magi/Templars. So it's a lot like the Roman Catholic Church, but without a lot of the political nonsense. -Quaddy Check this Out!
