There are many people in this world that are exactly what you have described. You do not have to suffer any form of trauma to be born a giving person. To want to do good in this world and to try to please everyone. She clearly has low self-esteem and as such does not believe that she is worthy. That alone plays out in to each and every things she does; decision she makes and how she lives her life. My neighbour and friend is growing up is a prime example of the supreme desire to please everyone, she wanted/needed to be liked by everyone she met and she would do just about anything to make that happen, to feel that sense of belonging and to fit in, especially with her peer group. She had been bullied to the extreme and her belief is that she somehow deserved it and worse yet, as a kid she would invite them over to her house trying to make them like her so they won't pick on her. It truly was sad. As a young teen she began having sex very young in order to try to get boys to like her and not be mean to her. You won't be surprised to learn that she got pregnant very young and truly hasn't changed much to this day. Now mind you I only talk to her once or twice a year.

So having said all of that there are people who are like this for no reason at all other than a very strong desire to be liked, wanted, needed and loved. They often will cross boundaries and do what they know is wrong. As a result your character has low to no self esteem, no parents to guide her and a desire to find a home, a place where she truly belongs. She can change, but she will need help to do so. This happens so much more than you would think, I have worked with so many young teenage girls who this also describes so very well. Just remember no character is all good, nor all bad. Hope this helps in some way.
