Had three pieces I was supposed to be completing for three contests.
Started only one of them then got writer's block. I brainstormed ideas with a friend who's also a writer and he gave me some great ideas that I may adapt for my own uses (with full credit) to finish the only story I actually started. It won't be done in time for the contest but at least I now have a chance at finishing it.
But this has retaught me a valuable lesson: Don't let my eyes get bigger than my stomach. Build up to writing for more than one contest per week by writing for one for a few weeks--which I've been doing--then adding one more and stopping there till I've trained myself to be more prolific.
Two short stories per week is enough for now. More will have to come, if it comes, at a later point.
