A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
Hi writing.com family, My name is Nadia N. McDonald. I felt it was fitting to introduce myself to the community and network of writers. Many of the editors, authors, and aspiring authors know very little about me due to the fact that I have yet to post my poems, writing samples, essays, short stories and excerpts from my book to be reviewed. Reason being, life has dealt me a fate of challenges. There are escalating difficulties in my life that has left a blur and a speck in my eye. This is no excuse because problems invade the chambers of our life to strengthen us and make us better individuals. I took a break from my novel because there was a lack of focus and concentration to pace and craft my prose. The adrenaline pumped in my body for weeks, because there was high expectations for my novel that is twenty-seven chapters in length. Concurrently, I have access to a word.press blog that should of been customized at this stage. Unfortunately, I have yet to get the ball rolling and the ground running. Being an inexperienced blogger, I was of the view that once my content was an attention grabber I could make waves in blogging. Consequently, this was not the case. I wrote about an experience I encountered in early January. The feedback was not what I expected. Rather, than stir my niche and make my blogging presence felt, my word.press blog was temporarily suspended. It was reinstated but at the expense of learning from that dreadful experience. In the weeks that followed, I did lots of research and discovered websites from experts who trained on-line to help writers. I was given valuable information and expertise in blogging and freelance writing that included clips, videos, webinars, article writing and so much more. Simultaneously, my knowledge was sharpened and I gained substantial ideas and concepts, on how to get started and turn my blogging and freelance writing into a money making machine. My personal circumstances lead me to start an article called: THE ENSUING CASE OF INSTABILITY. THE ROOT CAUSE OF LACK. Fortunately, I was able to get the ground running on this project. Unfortunately, there is so much I have to do. I have interviews lined up, videos to films, photographs to snap, and tons of research to gather on the website. My freelance career would definitely take off with a website. I am grateful to have a professional network with LinkedIn, and twitter/facebook accounts to help me with social media, as well as connect me with followers and subscribers. In addition to my writing career, I am a teacher by profession. Recently, I submitted a resume for the opportunity to teach in China. My resume was warmly accepted, and now there is a Skype interview schedule for Tuesday of next week. Goosebump is running down my spine. And now I am filled with anxiety and swallowing lumps in my throat. I have absolutely no idea what to expect. Regardless of that pending interview, there is so much to learn about me. I am founder and coordinator of the creative arts club. This club is design for 4-13 year olds who have special talents, and are taught to be creative and original. Additionally, I am a member of Goodreads, Random House Readers Circle, the YA book club and subscriber of Random House Publishing Group. Furthermore, I love to debate and study economics. I am an avid follower of slideshare.net and an active participant of Disqus forums. |
