Gday R I think the concept of the compilation of short stories from the perspective of todays adolescent's would be well worth the effort, especially if you cover an extremely broad range of views with no limitations on the society range of adolescent views. IE : From happy families, separated or single parent situations, financially well off or struggling, and include varying sexuality preferences. To be honest if you put in the research to cover as many views as possible, it may well have both appeal to adolescents and parents alike. Some individuals will be able to read it and realise that they are not alone in their situation and it may assist them to cope with their current situation in life. It would also be of benefits to parents to read how other children are feeling about current pressures in life that they are unaware of or unable to discuss with their own children. Its always easier to tell a stranger what's going on in your life than to tell someone close to you whom may be prone to judge you differently based on their misunderstanding of adolescent challenges etc. Parents cannot handle a situation that they do not understand. So based on the above analysis of your proposal, the marketing appeal of the completed result is not limited to one particular readers preference.....If that makes sense. Ex : Parent concerned about what's going on can read book to get a heads up on exactly what the individual is truly experiencing, and an adolescent can read it to remove the isolation that is often felt at that age when approaching situations that they are uncomfortable about, due to feeling its only them and no one else has this problem there must be something wrong with me.
