A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
Rules are stupid, but... and a big but, they are necessary. At least in some things, even genres. It's just that when it comes to speculative fiction it all depends on who you talk to, what you are writing, and the world you are writing it in. I hope that made sense, especially with one who has had no sleep. Even fantasy, made up worlds have rules. I know I'm a bigggg party pooper. Phewy. But if a world did not have rules, then the people would be in chaos. I write anywhere from Epic fantasy to YA fantasy, at least I am venturing into that genre. Just sort of stearing clear of vampires. Vampires are cool and all, but their are a LOT of other mythical creatures that is hardly ever touched upon and with the right amount of imagination one can produce a great adventure. My particular fantasy creatures favorites are: elves, fairies, dragons, werewolves, sirens, and mermaids. I am especially fond of dragons, but not your typical, run-of-the-mill dragons either. I like to get creative with them. If you are curious and have time, check out "Invalid Item" . It is in the revising process as we speak, but I am not sure what sub genre of fantasy it would be under. I am hoping that made sense. |
