A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
You're not doing wrong to upload, but it's not required. The purpose of the Prep is to give YOU the tools YOU need to write your novel in November. It is supposed to help you get to know your characters and settings, brainstorm your plot, and figure out and organize all the miscellaneous facts that you will want to keep consistent while writing your novel in November. Therefore, it's a good idea to put all your Prep notes in one place. Some people create a "book" item in WDC and store their notes there. Some people keep all their notes handwritten in a notebook. Some people store their information in database software like Scrivener. Some people compile handwritten notes or index cards into a folder or binder. When you participate in the Prep, you get to choose where to store all the information you're generating and organizing. Therefore, you are not required to upload anything. If you like handwritten notes, use handwritten notes. If you like to keep all your notes electronically, and if you want to store them at WDC, you're welcome to do that. Many people are voluntarily posting links to their completed assignments stored at WDC. That invites other group members to read their work, comment on it, help them brainstorm. But none of that is required. All that's required is that you complete the assignments, and then tell us you did so. I was just suggesting easier ways to upload your setting drawings IF you want them uploaded. You don't have to upload them at all. Regards, Michelle |
