I'm with you on the foreshadowing. I like to know how everything pans out to the smallest detail and then I unwind the bobbin... I've tried writing mysteries when the solution is still a mystery to me and it just leads to wasted time, convoluted plotting and misguided character development. Of course I'm not saying that my way is THE right way; I'm just saying that it's the right way for me!
And can I just say 'hello' and thanks heaps for the warm welcome to the group. I'm a Manchester Steampunk writer, and as such, there is a heavy sexual element to my writing, usually subversive and fetish-led, and nearly always pivotal to either plot or character development.
