Just picking a spot for a general response to this thread: All GPs in a group item transfer to the group item owner upon deletion of a group item. Groups can also set members to co-leader level and/or add more than one person to handle funds. This is really the best option for groups since our grace policy and the length of time paid accounts can last and/or items are stored for posterity, it's rare that many groups are "deleted" with GPs in them. Also, everyone should really rest assured Writing.Com donates many many many many many times the GPs to the angel groups around the site than have ever been lost to this type of issue. Karmatically speaking, even in the rare cases where group leaders didn't think ahead and groups and group GPs are abandoned, members of the site are definitely on the winning side of "getting GPs" the equation... if we're doing the math. Overall, when I look at the list of priorities for development and the fact that a well setup group can subvert this type of issue with existing tools far better than a "will it" system, I'll note that I've added this to the todo list but it's not very high on that list... And from there, I hope people encourage the groups they're involved with to consider "succession" plans for such events as extended absences of leaders, etc. ~~SM
