While I don't feel right coming out and saying "Yeah, it's not all fair that you say 'He offered' so here I am", I do feel I have to say that it isn't kosher presuming that you are given the priveledge without getting some sort of confirmation. That's the whole reason I've tried to maintain silence on the issue until we actually -hear- from Stephen himself.
Let's remember that a couple years back he had life problems come up, and was gone for just about a full year before he poped back in and got back to the judging. Another thought that occurs to me is this :: most contest that feature guest judging tend to cycle the judges (thus avoiding favortism for specific users). If we decide there must be a guest judge in the interim, might I recommend we do the "popcorn" method - start with one person, and that judge names the winner(s) as well as who the next judge will be. Of course, there should also be soem ruling on how often one person can be a guest judge...say like "You have to wait ___ rounds to be able to judge again"...
