Sharo, Don't say always and forever, you still have so far to go and there are so many authors out there... so many stories. Though I would recommend Under the Dome and Blaze (written as Bachman) I say try Koontz earlier work; Phantoms, Midnight; Lighting; and my fave Twilight Eyes. Then there's Peter Straub who co-wrote The Talisman and The Dark House with King. Then there's the Englishmen - James Herbert, Ramsey Campbell, Clive Barker, and Stephen Laws. Don't forget the masters Bram Stoker, H P Lovecraft, H G Wells, Edgar Allen Poe. For me, there's too many to draw a favourite out of the pack. King is great at giving a warm feeling to all his stories, no matter how dark they are. Straub, Barker, Campbell are masters of words; the way they use descriptions to form an image in your mind is amazing (though sometimes it does get heavy reading - though always worth it.) Campbell, to is a master at being creepy, giving you an unsettling feeling right to the marrow of your bone - as do Stoker, Lovecraft, & Poe. Then you just have cracking good reads, Koontz, Laws, and Wells. I also recommend looking in your nearest charity shop and picking up an author you've never heard of - and you could be surprised. The biggest surprise and best read so far, this year, has been SPIDERS for which there is a review below. At the moment it's on loan to my mum and she started to read it, enjoyed it, though the first chapter alone creeped her out so much that now she'll only read it in the day time - what better recommendation is there than that?
