I'd like to cast my vote for this functionality as well. I usually reply and just leave my signature at the bottom, but there are a lot of e-mails where I'd like my signature right after what I type, particularly because I have a text version of my handle (so I don't have to type it), as well as promote links to my groups, blog and other community items.

Having the option of placing the sig above or below the e-mail chain would be a wonderful addition, allowing us to customize the use of our e-mail signatures to best suit our needs.
