I don't know enough about computers to know if this is even possible, but I'd love it if we could "lock" a static item to prevent it being edited without giving us a warning message first. Something like "This item is currently Locked to prevent editing. Do you wish to unlock it to enable editing?"

That way, if you Lock an item, you won't accidentally edit it after a contest deadline. I know many people who have accidentally done this, so this would help them. Not that I've ever made this mistake.
