I have to say I'm not nuts about the trend, mostly because vampires tend to be over-romanticized (and/or over sexualized to the point of sleaziness) anymore. Moonlight comes to mind, and I only remember that show because my future father-in-law liked it. Why? Your guess is as good as mine, especially since he claims to hate everything (yet will sit around and watch it). Now if the darker/more morally dubious side of the vampire lifestyle emerges, I might be interested.
In the meantime, I'm staying out of this until Priest can be added to my Netflix queue. And odds are good I'll be watching it with no sound. I have my priorities.
