Leaps to Feet...
Oh my goodness.
Dear readers, it gives me
great pleasure to introduce to you -
someone who actually just joined
this little world on my birthday
(and unbeknownst to them)
left behind a little birthday present...
which I found hiding in the shadows.

I am indeed honored to present:

the second Standing Ovation award

for this bit of brilliance:

Being Poor Open in new Window. (E)
What everyday life is like being poor.

This is something one can read a few times over, easily.
But the first time, it rolls wonderfully, and gathers together
such a storm of eloquence, as to cause a kind of tsunami
of illumination - that a reader truly gets the point.

Many write about the.......poor.
Some do it well.
Others get lost somewhere along the way...within numbers,
statistics, policies, protocols, wiping their hearts upon their
sleeves, all along the way.
Many write about it, and more are doing so, all the time.
It appears to be a growth industry.

The poor, it seems, rarely write about themselves.
This is a voice seldom heard.
Well, refer to that bit of excellence above....
and listen to what it says.

At the end of this list,
resides a certain quiet dignity
I've not often found -
something that earns a respect
instead of expecting it as a free
handout.
I like that, a lot.

hey author -
I'm still applauding!

cheers,

Captain Midnight
Just let me laugh when it's funny
and when it's sad, let me cry
