Write poetry from prompts just for the fun of it; formal or free verse, you pick. |
That lone day, life was dull my creative juices drained to null And then it suddenly struck, a voice, inspiring and soothing My heart skipped no beat, the rain then came to beat the heat but my creativity dazzled in flickers, so erratic, like bubbles in the frost The idea struck, but wouldn't stay between the intellect and mind, a noiseless fray Please stay! I wanted to pray but the writer's mind, fickle as ever Danced amidst the rains, thought, felt, and breathed, I wanted to write, more and more and serenade with my first love amidst the rain A million ideas, but nothing made sense Oh God! I beseeched, please spare my penance let the creative dream go flutter As for my thoughts, shack no shutter But alas, fickle though the mind the bustle of life and school I had to mind What that spring of life in me I had to find But the idea, did spark no fire I wish I could write, forever and for always, but when ideas fret free, will the rains provide a balance? Write on! That's all I can say! P.S. I like this prompt, Joy. I think this poem can be interpreted in many ways. But it was quite quick, in some places, I had no idea what I was writing. Keep putting up more prompts. The Indian weather is getting colder, I could do with some nature poetry. Keep Writing! ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
