Knowing what you believe and why is at least as important as the believing itself.

"AS" On the Controversial Topic of Immigration
Alright here are my thoughts on Immigration:

I don't think there is really such a thing. 200 million years ago all of the present day continents were combined in a single super-continent called 'Pangea'. During the course of history the tectonic plates split apart and drifted away from each other, creating the continents we know today. When the plates were connected everything was on the same continent and there were no specific sections or continents marked out. It was only when the plates separated that they became known as continents.

It is an agreed upon theory that human life probably evolved from what is now know as Africa. However when there was only the super-continent Africa was joined with all of the other continents as one. People evolved and migrated (not immigrated) across the globe and to all of the corners of the earth, but we must remember that we all came from the same continent of Pangea. So there are my thoughts on immigration; it is really just migration.

However, in the process of history men have fought and conquered other men’s property and countries for their own. I believe this was a vital practice for civilization for without it many countries would not be discovered or as civilized as they are today. Men built walls to protect themselves and their kingdoms from invaders or people who meant them harm in any way. As we see in history, without new people in a civilization the civilization will eventually die out. So, how to allow fresh bodies into a country without knowing if the newcomers mean harm to your country? Immigration laws are the answer that the United States has come up with. We allow people from everywhere to come to our country and become citizens. The only thing is that one must do it legally!

If everything is done by the law, there should be no problems and most would be happy. It’s just when people start trying to evade the law and get in a country easier or faster when trouble begins. I don’t care where a person comes from or what they look like because I know that we all came from the same place, but man as a whole has created boundaries and the only way to cross these boundaries is to become a citizen. I support this, you just have to do it legally, or else you’ll see another side of me…

Many residents in America wouldn’t be alive today if not for some ancestor from Europe or Asia or Africa, so to say that we shouldn’t allow immigrants is just hypocritical. The only things I would ask from any new citizen is to speak the language of the country they want to enter, and to follow all of the laws. If those simple things are done then I have no problem with anything.
