You'll have to give an example, the way you put it I would argue that a natural potential life does not deserve any more protection than an artificial potential life. The problem is where you define potential. I think that the significant part of that definition is if no unusual external force is exerted, will the potential exists? If an artificial potential life exists in a state where, without lab work, it will develop into a human embryo following its now natural cell differentiation pathway then it deserves every bit as much potential as a naturally occurring embryo.
