Controversial Topic Discussion

I am very much familiar with both Hovind and AIG. I can assure you neither one provides the slightest bit of evidence for YEC. The evidences they claim support YEC are misrepresentations of scientific data and bastardizations of evolutionary theory, cosmology, physics, chemistry and geology.

To a great extent, both groups try and find what they consider problems with current science, usually due to a failure to properly understand what the science actually says or intentional misrepresentation, and from there they start to sell their wares in the form of unsupportable miracles. The problem with doing such a thing is that, even if they had understood or properly represented scientific data, to show it has a problem is simply to show it might need further investigation in an area. Such a situation does not give the YEC proponents license to insert miracles wherever science may still need further discovery. That is exactly what I mean when I say religion corrupts science.

If there are any specific evidence anyone can provide that they think should lead one to believe the earth is only 6-10 thousand years old I am perfectly willing to address them here. I can assure you that the claims made by both Hovind and AIG are neither scientific nor reasonable.
