Don't give up! After all, rewrites are always better. I know, because I resisted rewriting for a long time. I finally started several months ago, and it's improved my novel immensely! Downloading to cd's and thumb-drives will certainly help minimize the damage if something like this happens again (heaven forbid!). Just don't lose heart!
