A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
<indent>I tried to find the magical answer to this one too by researching what various published, and non published writers and authors do. Basically it came down to making writing a habit by writing every day (generally it takes a month of serious repetition to make or break a habit). Doesn't matter what you write about, or if you're on task, just that you write. <indent>On the really hard days where you just feel blah, many authors suggest using a timing method of sitting down and pecking away at the keyboard, journaling, nonsense, whatever, even just blah blah blah the entire page(s). 80-90% of the time the writing just starts flowing again. That other 10-20%, they put their time in and did something else, because it just wasn't happening. I found this works really well in my own writing :) <indent>If its that you are stuck on what to write about, many writers suggest reading a wider variety than you normally do, go out and study/eavesdrop on passersby, brainstorm, or get out and do something different. Hope this helps :) fwdragon75 |
