Wow, I bet that witchhunter34 never imagined the debate that they were starting when they posted their question.
I don't think you have to write every day as long as you are committed to writing when you do write. It's a passion for some, it's a hobby for others, a creative outlet, a way to work out frustration, a job, a career, something they can't live without, something they just do because they have to...any one of those people to me is a writer.
Someday I want it to be how I make my living, but I don't expect it to end up that way. Even so, even if I were never to publish a single thing, and knew it right now, I would never stop writing. I can't. It's why I'm glad that this site exists because it helps me but it's also good just to let others read what you write and get the feedback.
