This sounds like you don't respect your readers. That's a big no, no. Readers/listeners are equal partners in the storytelling business. Would you want to listen to someone who thought you were dumb?

The writers role in the writer-reader partnership is to tell the story in such a way that the reader can lose themselves in the story and enjoy the telling. If you can't do that, then you're not doing your job.
