"Invalid Item" Math workbooks, crayons, pencils and pens. Those sat on our desks. What we didn't know was that those tools wouldn't go to use that day. In the middle of an English lesson, the P.A. sounded, loud and clear. "If all teachers could please turn on the T.V." We all sat there in wonder; T.V. during an English lesson? Cool! What we didn't know was that the picture on the T.V. screen was going to hurt many people. Two big burning buildings flashed on screen. 'Okay?' we thought, 'What does this have to do with us?' The teacher had a look of pain written across her face. "Children, those are the Twin Towers over in New York City. They just got hit with planes with a lot of people in them. Terrorists who do not like our country did this." What we didn't know was what a terrorist was or why anyone hated our country. What we did know was that many people died, lots of teachers cried, and that our lives had been changed forever. infinite x's and o's, VB! |
