Hi! First of all, welcome to the WDC community. I'm so glad to meet you and hope that you'll find the time later to put up your writing so I can take a look. A lot of the time, the only difference between a serious approach and a comic one is attitude and approach. For instance, if your characters view something usually serious (e.g. death) as something flippant and unimportant, or see death as an annoyance, then that topic will usually become more lighthearted. Also, the author's own attitude toward the subject can definitely help. If you're going for a comic approach, then there's a good chance that your own attitude will shine through. I really encourage you to put up your conversion from serious to funny story if you ever write it. I would be interested in reading it!
