A 30 Day Challenge of flash fiction! |

Thirty Days of Fiction This is a month long flash fiction exercise designed to create discipline and commitment to achieving goals, while at the same time stirring a writer's muse with prompts.  The Challenge The challenge is simple. Everyday for 30 days, a prompt will be given, either picture or text that will require the writer to create a flash fiction short story of no more than 300 words. Rules  At 3:00 PM WDC Time (or close to it.) A prompt will be given in text or picture in the PROMPT section of the page. You may write in whatever genre you wish as long as it follows the prompt, and is no more than 300 words! Each flash fiction must be new material written for the specific prompt. Old flashes will not be given credit. Your story must contain a Setting, at least one character, a conflict, and a resolution. You must follow the prompt of the day! There are no maximum content ratings for this challenge but keep titles and introductions at E This is a Short Story challenge, as such, poetry will not be accepted. You may submit your item in the forum with the title as follows: Entry - Date - Word Count Please post a link to your entry, in the message section of your post in b-item format: {b-item:#######} Those with Upgraded memberships may create a book for their entries and post their message as {entry:#######} If using a Book entry, please title the book 30 Days of Fiction Challenge or something similar. The deadline for each prompt is 2:59 PM WDC Time All entries submitted afterwards will not qualify. There are bonus prompts given every Saturday. This will consist of the main prompt for the day, but also a bonus prompt that can be included in your daily entry. You are not required to complete the bonus prompt, but you must complete the main prompt to receive credit for that day. You may miss 3 Prompts and still complete the challenge. Beyond 3 will disqualify you from the challenge. HAVE FUN! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ It is requested that in your item's introduction you list the entry date of that day's prompt! If using book format, please list the date in the title of the entry. As the grand prize award will be based on the Overall collection of a participant, I request that you create a folder titled: 30 Days of Fiction Challenge to hold your daily entries. Those with Upgraded and higher accounts, using the book method do not need a folder, as long as No other writings other than ones pertaining to this challenge are stored in it. Prizes Each entry will be awarded with .5GPs per word. 300 Words = 150 GPS. (rounding up) Everyone who completes the challenge shall receive a Determination Merit Badge. Anyone who completes this challenge without missing a single prompt shall be awarded a Determination Merit Badge and 2,500 GPs At the end of the week (Saturday) There will be a Bonus Prompt. Anyone who submits an entry containing both the main and bonus prompts shall have a chance at a Flash Fiction Merit Badge, or a Merit Badge specific to that entry's genre (Winner's Choice). The winner of these bonus prompts will be determined based on best flash fiction entry that day. Grand Prizes At the conclusion of the challenge, 1 participant who I feel has the best Overall Collection will be awarded with a 50K Awardicon on their port An additional runner Up (with more than 5 participants) Will be selected based on Overall Collection, and receive 25K Awardicon on their port. Third best collection will receive a 10K awardicon on their Book/Folder and a Merit Badge (Winner's Choice). (15 or more participants) There may be opportunities for additional prizes, announced at my discretion throughout this challenge! These will be clearly stated in the PROMPT section of the page. PROMPT How to Enter You may join this challenge by posting a message in this forum with your intent to join! You will be added to the "30 Days of Fiction Challengers"  Group. In this group, you will receive an e-mail 3 days prior to the commencement of the contest. During the 30 days challenge, you will get c-notes and motivating emails to help nudge you to that finish line!Track your progress here Special Note This is currently in experimentation to determine participation and interest.
