Wandering travellers of all descriptions find their way here. |
Nestled in a wooded valley between snow capped peaks, there is natural clearing containing a small spring-fed lake. On the north side, the lake shallows onto a pebbled beach and set back almost into the trees are the ruins of an ancient shrine. The keen eye might also observe an old overgrown trail leading further into the trees. For centuries, the peaceful valley has drawn wandering and lost travellers who stay a short while before leaving rested and refreshed. But now a large new building has been erected on the north side, near the ruins. A sign over its door labels it 'The Last Lonely House.' Forum Rules 1. This is a typical fantasy setting. If you want to introduce magical creatures, either stick to the ones most people know, or, if you want to make up your own, send me a message describing the creature, its strengths and weaknesses, and its habits; and I will add it to the forum. With regards to the rest of the world, make up what you like so long as it doesn't directly conflict with what someone else has already posted. Bear in mind also that The Last Lonely House is in a political no man's land and does not claim to be part of any of the surrounding countries. 2. Before entering the world, send me a description of your character, including strengths, weaknesses, background and any hidden agenda; and I will put a public version available for viewing in (http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1978472-Characters). Characters should not be either all powerful, impossible to defeat, or possess knowledge about everything. Please follow the format in (http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1978472-Characters) when sending me your character, and add under a separate heading anything you do not want to be publicly viewable. E.g. If your character is always wearing a glamour of some sort, then the description you would post publicly would be of that glamour, but I would like to know about it so that if, for instance, someone else has an ability to pierce glamour (whether pc or npc), I can either message them at the appropriate time or post accordingly. 3. When posting something interactive with someone else's character, e.g. a conversation, or a fight, use the public characters in (http://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/1978472-Characters) to remain true to their behaviour. If you post something that goes against what someone else's character would do, I will either delete or edit that post. 4. Keep it clean, I would like to maintain my E content rating. 5. Have fun. Periodically either I will introduce some new problem that the characters should resolve, or I will hand the reins over to someone else who has an idea they want to try. |
