The Pet Who Changed My Life

I have already collected many stories about people and their pets, but I'm looking for new stories with more compelling emotional impact. The more impactful, the more likely yours will be featured in the book. Your name will be included in the book along with the pet's name. I have "tentative" interest expressed by a publisher, so this should happen if it's good. Tell me about that one pet who changed your life. He/she didn't have to save you from a fire or warn you about burglars. It's about the pets we are privileged to have with us for the brief period of their lives relative to our own years on earth, and how one pet can (in that short time) affect you emotionally in a way that's never been forgotten.
