loyalty madness
[Introduction]
Life in Mount Joy prison has been rough, I have been here almost eight years for a crime I didn't commit.
I've witnessed some crazy shit in my few years here. Most fellas don't last six months in the place, they get tired of it all and take the quickest exit out, only to me it's the wrong way out; there in a body bag.
I've had to live here with the lowest of the lows of men, men who abused and tortured little children, rapists who are called nonces, men who sold drugs all their lives, and the men who made that one stupid decision to make an extra bit of cash and got caught and worse of all we are locked up with all the psychopaths the craziest of them all. In my opinion, they should not be in this prison they should be in unit 9 facilities with a straight jacket on not in this place they don't know if there in the real world or if in a dream, how is that fair! they would cut a man's throat and walk away smiling as if nothing had happened, because in their minds nothing has happened, we call the crazies the cucks short for cuckoos.
One morning I woke up to the usual noises in prison, keys jingling, doors opening, and banging shut the echo of it seemed to bounce off every wall in the dump.
I got up and headed to go get some breakfast, and as I sat down in the canteen one of the cucks sat beside me, this cuck never spoke any sense most days he drew pictures on the wall on the landing with his fingers, or he laughed and joked with the invisible man.
I was taken back when he turned to me and said come to my cell after breakfast, I had never heard him string a sentence together before and he had never given eye contact before, but he looked me dead in the eye. he left the table and a friend sat down, I told him what the cuck had asked. we left and went to his cell.
I sware when I walked into cucks cell his eyes lit up for one second however when he saw my mate behind me he turned back to his normal crazy self, he was talking nonsense about god and all the usual crap so we left. my friend and I shared a cell and he did not believe me, he thought I had heard it wrong, and when I tried to explain it, he just laughed.
I never mentioned it again.
A few days later I decided to go and see for myself, I walked over to the cucks cell, I walked in, and closed the door behind me, he was rocking back and forth on his chair staring into space, then he looked at me and said "I asked you to come to my cell, I didn't mean your side kick too', I was in shock I couldn't speak, my stomach flipped, I thought the cuck was going to attack me and at that moment I regretted going over, he must have sensed the anxiety I imagine my face paled a little, he said ''relax I'm Karl ''and stuck out his hand'' I said Mick' as we shook hands. we chatted about the usual, where we are from, how long we are in then the door opened.
The screw looked at me like I had ten heads,' Mick what the fuck are you doing in this man's cell?' when I looked back Karl was rocking back and forward, he had gone back into his character, I got up and left, and this time I decided not to tell my friend he wouldn't believe me anyways.
It was hard I wanted to talk more to Karl but I knew the other prisoners would think I was a perv or a weirdo myself if I kept speaking to him.
I had to leave it be, for now.
I was alone in my cell reading when a slip of paper flew under the door, I got up and picked it up, it said "meet me in the chapel tomorrow at noon and was signed with just the letter k, I knew it was Karl so, I ripped up the letter so nobody would find it, the next day at noon I made my way to the chapel.
My mind was racing, was I been set up was I going to be hurt?
I walked into the chapel and looked around it was empty as usual, no one ever came here, I was lost in thought when Karl sat beside me he looked around to double check we were alone. He said 'I believe you know my father Thomas Dunne', I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I had never told anybody that name, that had been part of the deal, don't say a word and you and your family will be looked after for the rest of your life.
it had been a hard decision, to stay out of prison and watch my wife struggle to pay bills and feed and clothe the kids or do a bit of time and let my family have all they ever wanted.
I chose the second option but I never spoke about it ever, only me and Thomas knew about it. I never asked questions all I knew was I would get one million euros and while I was locked up my wife would be protected and paid weekly by the local gang.
I was told I would have to serve 10 to 15 years I knew it was going to be tough but I looked into the future, when I got out the things I could do for the family, they weren't struggling anymore and they certainly wouldn't struggle, when I got out it was a win-win.
I was missing out on my children growing up, but my wife kept me up to date with letters and pictures, she wasn't happy with my decision but she knew I was doing it out of love for my family,
My own father had been a drunk who would sit and eat fish and chips while my brothers and sisters and I stood by starving, I would never be that man, be that evil, and my wife knew this so deep down I knew she understood, we would be together again one day.
Karl gave me an envelope and told me "For your eyes only ok".
I read it that night under the blankets, it was the landscape of the prison Karl told me to study it so I did. We planned to escape in a month all of the hard work had been taken care of I just had to be ready.
It's funny I had been there almost eight years however this was the longest month of my life.
Karl had really played his part extremely well as one of the cucks, people took no notice of the cucks, except the dangerous ones, we always kept an eye on them, the ones that Karl was acting like were harmless, in fact so harmless people ignored Karl as he drew pictures with his fingers on the wall when in reality he was watching everybody else in the prison.
He was watching the other cucks and everybody else, screws and all.
he had studied so much that he knew what people liked and didn't like, he knew what people were afraid of and he knew that the morning we were to escape,
The screws were having a poker contest and were leaving the newest harmless screw on the watch. Karl placed a screwdriver and a butchers knife he had gotten hold of under the most dangerous cucks pillow ' Sean' who had been in solitary confinement for attacking other prisoners.
Sean was the most feared out of all the cucks, he should have been in unit nine there was only so long they could keep him detained by law in solitary and today was the day he was allowed back on the wing.
While the screws played poker, everything seemed to be going good for the new screw,
it was only his first year and he wanted badly to fit in with the other men, so much that he would often do double shifts for the other screws even after doing a straight 12 hours, he never refused,
Karl noticed all of this, he knew the newbie would be tired and he knew the other screws would be half drunk on whiskey and to invested in their poker tournament.
Karl was doodling with his finger on the wall as the screws brought back Sean the crazy cuck, he knew Sean had a fear of wasps, he knew that a wasp entering the prison had been what had set him off the last time, so when the prison guards walked away he began his mind games " zzzzzzzzzz" Karl said into the cell, he made the noise of a bee for about ten minutes and when Sean screamed hysterically he walked on.
The young screw heard the scream and been as helpful as he was walked over to check it out.
He entered the cell and Sean stabbed him 20 something times.
He had been stabbed in the main artery and died instantly.
Karl walked in a bent down and took his keys, when he walked out I was waiting outside the chapel as he told me to, we escaped and ran through the forest and we got collected.
I was dropped at the local docks where my family was waiting for me with Thomas.
He gave me a bag containing the money I was promised, he shook my hand and gave me a big hug, and told me if I ever needed anything to get in touch.
When we arrived at our new location, We had been given a new identity new house, and a car. When I counted the money that had also been doubled, I was told 15 years for one million euros, but because of my loyalty and for asking no questions.
I served 8 years and now I'm back with my wife and kids and I'm a millionaire, life is sweet, sweeter than ever. I won't get them eight years back but it was worth it, we will never struggle again.
The End.
