OCEAN EYES

I stare into those memorizing ocean eyes. Wet burning trails of tears slide down my face. The bland colors of tan and bright red surround me. The cut is has caused a gash near his chest causing blood to flow towards the floor. He gazes up at me and says “I love you!” His hand moves down from my forehead to my cheek leaving a trail of ice. His other hand locks onto the back of my head. Derek pushes my head into his and gives me a light kiss. I feel bliss like never before. He truly loves me. The anguish quickly takes hold like the roar of thunder after lightning strikes. A tear rolls silently down my face. His tan but clammy hand wipes it away.
