About my Mom
[Introduction]
To My beautiful Mother, there is no one I place above her.
For me it’s always been this way, she is, my mother, what can I say?
Ever since I was a little girl, my mother dearest has been my whole world.
My leader through this cold cruel place, always with style, never slipping from grace.
Although most of her friends are selfish and shallow, She rarely ever lets them harshen her mellow.
She does not pick wisely her friends, She learns their true colors and makes her amends.
My mother always stands tall, brave and strong, she loves me when I’m right, she loves me when I’m wrong.
She does the very best that she should, better than her very own mother ever would.
Although she doesn’t always do what what’s right, she gives it her best and fights with all of her might.
At the end of each test and trial, she always comes through wearing her smile.
A fighter always doing the best that she can, Whilst continuously searching for the love of a man.
But not just any man will do, This man must be worthy of the one that she knew.
The man that she loved, he called her daughter, she called him Dad,
Was long ago taken with the dreams that they had.
She’s blindly searching for that she can’t find,
She’s missing, come find her, she’s deep in her mind.
And when all the fingers point right back at herself,
She never stops to ask for help.
She’s always done things her own way,
The choices she’s made lead to the price she must pay.
She must go on its sheer determination,
Believing the lies feeding into temptation.
Never give up, never surrender,
These are the words I’ll always remember.
She’d give the shirt right off of her back,
If it meant helping a friend get back on track.
I grew up strong I learned from the best,
She prepared me well for life’s twisted quest.
My whole life I’ve been told go away,
Deep down all I wanted was to sit down and play.
I thought if maybe you got the clue,
Then maybe you would let me look after you.
But you stayed away like a some sort of recluse,
Wearing your problems a lot like a Neuse.

There you stay locked up in your room,
Tucked away safely in your dungeon of doom.
We never share any time,
Treating my presence like some heinous crime.
When you look in the mirror what do you see,
A naturally beauty, or a monstrosity.
You are who you are that and nothing more,
Never the same as the day before.
But you must not remember I was there when you cried,
Each time you fought, and pushed on, and tried.
There will be a time you will have to admit,
You fought a hard fight full of true grit.
When you run out of places to turn,
It’s time that you accept it as a lesson learned.
I wish I could protect you, and catch you when you fall,
Only the best for my porcelain doll.
You did the very best that you knew to do,
Even when you were feeling blue.
The three of us grew up with out even a clue,
And some of us have chosen to point the finger at you.
Yes, I know it isn’t fair,
How could we do this how could we dare.
Because that’s all that we we’re never taught,
You knew we were there but some how forgot.
To always practice what you preach,
Even when the lesson seemed quite out of reach.
It takes more than stuff to raise a family,
My eyes are open so wide I can see.
Never on you will I place the blame,
My Troubles are all mine I own them with shame,
Alas I am a fighter I’ll always remember,
How you had my back that distant December.
I’ve also brought life into this world,
One little boy, and two little girls.
I will teach them the ways of the force,
Only I think I’ll show them a different course.
I can do anything as long as I know,
That you’ll be there watching, and helping us grow.
Into a solid foundation,
Who knows maybe one day we could rule the nation.
With each step that I make,
I hope to give you a break.
To at least lighten the load,
Always abiding the family code.

And when it’s over all said and done,
I stand up tall knowing I’ve won.
My Mother always fighting to find what she’s lost,
Paying with much more than it should have cost.
Regardless the battle she always stayed true,
She gave it her best because that’s all that she knew.
And so with this rhyme I wanted to say,
I love you so deeply just in my own way.
I see you struggle and get up and go,
I do appreciate it I just thought you should know.
