A short story I wrote my junior year that allowed me to realize my new found gift. Writing |
[Introduction] In a Town such as this were light does not exist, i walk for hours on the hard stoned roads lined with leafless trees that scratch and claw at my soul in the night.
Afternoon's murky rain it lingering in the atmosphere. The night air was sharp cold that pierced my fleshed as i slowly slipped into the darkness waiting with the shadows along the alley walls in Peoria. It was then that i found the light that i was in search of, forever lighting up the darkness like a lantern guiding me through the underworld onto the other end. I watch the sun and moon rise then set on her face. Again in Chicago, Frisco, Denver, and New York. I made up my mind. One last glance before i free myself from the wife, so I can only confess my love for Aner Clute. A smile etches itself on my face as i pondered the likes of Aner and I married. Suddenly swiftly and stealthily the engraved blade "Forever yours, Forever mine" punctured my skin. Darkness graced the world with its presence once more leaving the wind surreptitiously sitting silently still singing melodies to it's dwellers of the night as i walk for hours on the hard stoned roads in Spoon River. |
