A short story I wrote for a friend of mine about A surprise awakening.
[Introduction]
Lion

I don’t know who I am, where I al, or how I got here. All is dark, all is quiet. I fell as if the world is spinning, faster and faster and faster until… stop, the world goes still. My head is pounding and my whole body aches. I open my eyes, only to be blinded by the mid-day sun. I let my eyes adjust to the light, and find myself in a large open plain. I try to stand, only to fall back into the grass. I eventually get to my feet and begin to walk towards the sound of water, and find a small stream. When I get to it I dunk my hands in and splash my face to clear my vision. When it finally clears I look down and see two large paws. I jump back in shock only to realize they’re mine! I look behind me and find a long, furry body, and a long, slender tail at it’s end. I slowly tilt my head towards the water and see the face of a lion. I think to myself “this must be a dream, it has to be.” I bite myself on the shoulder, only to cry out in pain. “Its not a dream” I say to myself in horror. I start to panic and run around in circles when out of nowhere, a calm, smooth voice says, “There you are , I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” I look behind me and see a beautiful, white lioness starring at me. She begins to walk toward me and says, “I was starting to wonder if you where going to show up at all.” she walks around me a few times, studying me she did. “Little scrawnier than I expected. Ah well, come on.” She slowly walks away while I sit in shock and wonder. When she’s about two yards away she turns her head and says “Are you coming or not?” Not wanting to infer the wrath of a lioness, or be left alone. I did as she instructed, and followed. As we walk, she turns her head and says, “By the way, I’m Lunewen.” “Its nice to meet you Lunewen, I’m…” “ It’s ok, no one knows their name at first”, she says to my pause. As we walk a question burns in the back of my head, but I’m afraid to ask Lunewen, and am afraid of what she’ll say. The more we walk, the more it burns, until finally I ask, “Lunewen, where are you taking me?” She stops and looks at me with a puzzled look and says “Why, I’m taking you home.”
