All Gone - continue the story!
[Introduction]
“Follow me,” Jan whispered as she led Thomas out of the house. “And while you’re at it, shut up. No talking.”
They reached the gate and swung over it. Behind them the night was quiet. In front of them lay the main road, bustling and bursting with cars. Horns and screeches echoed through the trees, calling, calling, calling.
“Hurry up,” Thomas urged. “I think Mum’s still awake, ‘coz I think I saw a light, Jan.” Jan didn’t reply. She had already dashed off into the distance. Thomas, his fat wobbling and clinging on for dear life on to him panted after her, pleading with her to slow down.

A block away they could already hear the music. Jan and Thomas cautiously positioned themselves as close as they could to the ground. A car was coming. It passed by, not noticing them. They sighed and clambered up, heading for the house.
Already on they had been questioned by an old lady who they had run away from, nearly got hit by a car, and would have been caught by a police officer if Jan hadn’t pushed Thomas and herself flying into the nearest bush.
“We’re here,” Thomas said excitedly. Jan nodded.
“About time, too,” she muttered. “Your fat could slow down Hercules himself.” Thomas swung around.
“What was that?” he asked sharply. She shook her head.
“Nothing, nothing,” she said, hurriedly. “We’re here, anyway, it doesn’t matter.” Thomas eyed her for a moment, then grunted and pushed the gate open. They ran up the path and tried the door. It was locked.
“Huh?” Jan moaned. “That’s not possible! They said they would leave it unlocked for us, the liars! They probably can’t here us from here, even if we shouted, the morons!” All the same, they banged at the door and shouted until their voices were hoarse. Twice they were nearly seen, but they always mange to hide in time.
Eventually the door opened. A very irritated old man was standing in the doorway, brandishing an enormous golf club.
“Whaddya crazy hooligans want at this damned time of night?” The old man snarled. The two twins stared at him in shock and ran down the path. They heard the door slam shut, and they were safe. They eventually figured out that the house they had got wrong was another house; the correct one was next to it.
The minute they stepped in, they knew something was wrong.
