A simple puzzle story that doesn't appear to be what it seems.
[Introduction]
It was a dark night, an eerie dark night that seemed unending. That was if you were looking through Claire's window. High up in the Lugards mansion, she would stare up through her window at the starless sky. No light could be seen for miles on end. The night seemed to have locked up frightened souls in its drab covering. It had to be that. Whatelse could explain the constant wailings she heard. She sound so desperate and hopeless, ever-increasing their pitch. It was almost as if they drew closer every night.

She wondered if anybody else could hear them and find out why they were crying. But that was a futile thought. No one in the Lugards mansion would care for such "frivolities". Yes, that's what he would call it. It was him that had her locked up so high in this ghostly mansion.

Poor Claire, she lived in so much fear of him. She was raised this way. Wishing someone would rescue her from this prison. This prison that felt like home.
