A short and sweet missive. It is true that animals can worm their way to our hearts and hold a special place there. I think you have to love animals to be able to get the bond that can be created between a person and their animal/s.
My mission is to reciprocate the kindness you left when reading, "The 'B' Word."
It won't take any effort at all, as I have learned along my unique and colourful journey, people who love nature and animals, love living.
Journal entries are like peeking into someone's undies drawer on the way to the washroom at a fancy dinner party. One look and you can get a quick synopsis of what makes the person tic inside. Reading your Journal entry 217.No 255, coupled with the poem, "What Do I Have," reveal a heart that loves unreservedly.
Patient and limitless love isn't a chore, it's a gift that gives to both the receiver, and giver. If I may... I believe Title Deeds come in various forms; some on paper etched in ink, and others on the heart, chiselled with love. Flossie and you, will never be the same, because you both gave freely to each other; that memory can never be taken away. In that sense, she will always belong to you!
Your story could have been about me! I've worked a little with Saddlebreds, but prefer Walking Horses (not the kind with keg shoes), and my greatest passion is now donkeys and mules. Training them is such a different experience.
My mule, Top Hat 'n Tails, was riding out on trail after being ridden in the breaking corral 3 times! My donkey, after being ground driven a few times, pulled the cart like he'd done it all of his life! Donkeys and mules are amazing critters! They are smarter than horses and once a mule trusts someone, he will do anything asked of him, provided it causes him no harm.
I sure did love your "journal" about your experience with horses. I would like to be your friend. It seems like we have a lot in common. I could learn a lot from your experience.

Are you riding hunt seat or daddle seat?. If it is hunt seat then you are wearing breeches. Jodphurs are worn by saddleseat (flat saddle) riders. A lot of riders even long time riders mix these two terms or use them interchangeably. Breeches always go wuth tall nearly knee high hunt or fiel boots, and jods go with the short just above the ankle high boots with either elastic inserts or laces/
