Prompt #22: What plot twist (it can be from any movie, television show, book, video game, etc.) surprised you the most? Movie. What a wonderful question, and I thought of many but here is the first that creeped in and I'm sure its had the same effect on everyone who has seen this movie. I have only watched this the once, since the sub genre of body horror doesn't tic any boxes for me and looking back the trailer is not very good either, but the ending still shocks me till this day. Billy the puppet laughing is something you never forget the sound of. Two men kidnapped, wake in a remote, dirty bathroom, chained to the pipes and a dead body on the floor between them. One has a bullet, the other a rusty hacksaw. A hour and a half of mental choices no one would want to make. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy horror but not this kind, so for this to have such a lasting impact on me is quite a feat. Low budget film, crazy profits. A bunch of spin offs were made but none has the impact of the cliff hanger of the first. The dead body on the floor being alive and being Jigsaw. I was so surprised I jumped up off the couch. James Wan made his mark with this movies and has moved on to make some beauties I enjoyed very much. I often get told I should enjoy all the Saw movies since I enjoy horror, but it's not like that, gore and body horror aren't what I see as horror, old houses, creature feature, ghosts, demons, hauntings are my thing. Book. Dragonlance Legends by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. With over 190 books set in the Dragonlance universes, this is the second trilogy. Time of the Twins (1986) Test of the Twins (1986) War of the Twins (1986) These books put me on my reading path and are the best to impact me. Tell the story of a set of twin boys, Raistlin and Cameron Majere. It's hard to explain since there so much to the universe. It's a classic fantasy world with dragons, elves, dwarfs, warriors, inns, magic, mages. These three follow the twins from birth to the end of their lives. Raistlin is the youngest of the two weak and sickly, Cameron strong, healthy and beautiful. Raistlin being so ill and frail creates a bond of brothering caring from Cameron, this bond isn't as good for Raistlin and watch the path he takes, the people he uses, the trails they experience after the War of Lance. What Raislin does and the love for him. Breaks my heart. |
| Mike my man! Hahaha! 49 books 1 manga, wow! you go! 60 books a year his sweet spot, I chocked on my coffee. Mike is my favorite bookworm for many reasons and I tried many others and they all failed, found one today who just starting Stephen King, like what hole has she been hiding under. About my age, and reads a lot that I do, and any book I've heard through him didn't fail. He has some sweet publishers sending him beautiful books. |
This is more of a reference for me, since this game is one of my favorite of all time way back on the PlayStation 1. I bought FF10 before I had the system and that was by far the best for a lot of years. I can remember the old plasma Tv, Jordan is in the car seat playing this game. All we're getting now is remakes and re mastered cause they know nostalgia sells, and my generation is one the is crazy for it. |
Oh my goodness. I would of expected this to Crunchyroll not Netflix. That said Netflix is upping their Amine game. I still stand by Castlevania seasons the best with story, even if you have no experience with the games, quite dark though. This is more a note to myself to watch this year. I love the idea of a aged overweight assassin, with a family having to go back to his old ways to save that family. Love of food and a new outlook, no boobs and beautiful women just an overweight man. Dr. Stone final season is this year with 44 shows to wrap it up. E= Mc2. I got Milo stepping on my laptop, purring and drooling. |
I can't help but think of my children when I listen to this song. It can be quite sad, since he sings, "I'll be with you again" over and over. I miss my youngest and try more than ever to remember the things he brought to everyone who knew him while he was alive. His laugh, the things he talked about, the stories he told, his hugs, the sound of his voice. Ya, know when people die their voice is the first thing often forgotten. I miss his snoring, his ketchup sandwiches, his plushy collections growing. I try to remember the happy things. Happy he was and I need to be happy for my boys. Children are children and then grow to adults and that dynamic I had when they were small is strained now, part in my inability to let my remaining children grow up. I really enjoy this song, never knew this was what it was called, but I can't help myself its a somber tune. Music has a way of being truly universal, everyone gets something from a song. I always have the radio going I enjoy music so much. |
