I did some work with Roger but eventually found that journaling and doing some shadow work independently I discovered that I didn't see myself as valuable or worthwhile, so I never advocated for myself. I've written a lot of letters to myself rehashing things that I've allowed to happen and what I could do differently so I've learned new habits and better approaches.
So very true, I believe that we should have one pointed agenda. This I am trying very hard, to be a subject and all the things that are happening remains object. Though I have faced heavy resistance from within. I have maintained a diary and make a note of all objective things trying to be subjective. So as a witness consciousness I try with inherent effort to continue with all things happening as objective. I am planning to write a book on Self consciousness and a major role Ego and pride plays in our subconscious mind and body.
Negativity sometimes is a helpful learning tool as well as positivity. Until people feel the results they won't change for the better, unfortunately. I've seen how destructive negativity can be but I've also seen people who have never experienced bad things and in their well meaning positivity are oblivious and make no effort to help the changes needed.
Yes, I can certainly understand the difficulty of patience. Patience, however, doesn't mean sitting down and taking just about anything with a smile. Surely, we all need to be on the alert, not just with some groups or people but with all of them.
As to the Nazi thing, I don't know as much as you do, Steph, and especially through experience, but I've been to Germany and one of my cousins was married to a German who seriously hated the Nazis. I cannot even look at the photos of the camps and whatever else rotten the Nazis did. I'm chicken that way. The problem was, in the beginning, the German people liked the party only because, of the other existing parties, it was in the middle. Then, after they became popular, the Nazis showed their colors. That's why I think we need to be vigilant all the time, not with one group but with all of them.
Joy, I don't know if my comment is a side note or related, but I do like your message of patience. Being a Gemini, patience can be extremely challenging to me. Sigh...
Being stationed in Germany in the late 80's early 90's was a semi-sobering experience. Heck, the kaserne where the hubby was stationed on in Bad Hersfeld, had semi-scrubbed off nazi markings on it. The major building was called McPheeters Barracks and if you research on the web a bit, you'll find photos of it during the Nazi days. I got to know several German nationals, all of them sweet, but the majority of them, grandchildren of nazis, still sporting hurts and embarrassment about the war. We learned about the build up of the Nazi party starting in the late 1920's through the 30's etc and there's a process to it. From name calling, to vandalism, to dehumanization to violence. Years later when I would have to visit the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles for training for my job, I was reminded of all that.
What am I trying to say? When you call someone a Nazi you dehumanize them. I'm not into that. I try to exercise patience and compassion and empathy. It's not easy because you have to find a balance between that patience/compassion, and sticking up for yourself and your beliefs, too. I hope I made sense.
I'd like to strangle Patience. Me? I've made the decision to travel for 2-3 months. By February the political situation in the USA should be clearer. I leave because my nerves can't take drama and the bullseye on my back. We shall see.
Prompt:
Write a poem about autumn for your Blog entry today.
------------
Autumn
when summer fades,
nature plays a wistful song,
for soon, autumn will whisper
soft and slow, wearing a cloak
of red, amber, yellow
and I'll remember tales from
long ago, on nights wider
in gentle rain, with scent of cider
and fields of grain, harvest moon,
and falling leaves with their tune
a palette of colors they'd blend
for my broken heart to mend
