A new blog to contain answers to prompts

Since my old blog "Everyday Canvas " became overfilled, here's a new one. This new blog item will continue answering prompts, the same as the old one.

Cool water cascading to low ground
To spread good will and hope all around.

I agree with Sue, very poignant reminders as we age.

Happy Yule, Joy! Solstices are celebrated by this girl, because they are an important part of Wiccan beliefs.

Funny we should have in our families those two superstitions in common. I think the Saturday thing might have been influenced by the Jewish Sabbath, but to the best of my knowledge, my family wasn't Jewish. As to knocking on wood, I'm curious about it. I think I'll run a search on that.

My grandma wouldn't do laundry on Saturday either. And they always knocked on wood.

I don't share in superstitions either.

I read so many books until the last few years when my eyes don't cooperate so much and I've switched more and more to audiobooks.

However, some in my past that stick out would be, in no particular order:
A Little Princess
Jane Eyre
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
The Feminine Mystique
The Fabric of the Cosmos
The Midnight Library

There are many more that I've read and loved, but those each had a particular message or theme that resonated strongly.

Playing with Words

Prompt:
Have fun with these words: explode, promote, reasonable, density, composition, compose, moment, prediction, reconcile and shallow.

How I Write

when thoughts of *density take hold
a *composition I muse, wild and bold

can I *reconcile dreams I might chase
and *reasonable lines I may place?

thus a *moment hangs by a fragile thread
while stars *explode, my fears are fed

I stand and face a *prediction unfound
to *promote my words, my rhymes rebound

beneath my plight, *shallow brooks flow
I *compose this poem and whisper low

ideas in fragments line up to be named
for after the chaos, my storm is tamed
