Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

If only I had the sense
to see the difference between pennies and cents
I’d no longer be penny-pinching
and from cents I’d never be flinching
but think of the extra expense
in asking for thoughts or intents
