The second of my collections of poems written for "Express It In Eight."
As usual these days, I choose blog format because it offers more space for the work.

Shovel

There’s none as sharp as my tongue
but I’m grounded in absolute truth,
inside the shed I am usually hung
use is what hones my tooth.

For I bite so hard at the earth
my tooth is as bright as a knife
and I dig for all I am worth
it’s as important to me as life.
