Friday March 8. 2024 12:30 am ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Use these random words in your entry: tactic, soak, cow, issue, tax, heavy, and strong. Jim had to admit that he had issues that he was not going to be able to resolve in months much less before Federal tax day, the 15th of April. That gave him thirty-eight days to sell Bertha, his son's cow, a long shot because she was a special needs bovine. She was no longer strong enough to stand on her arthritic legs. He remembers the day he took Bobby to farmer Mac's place to buy Bertha. Bobby named her after his grandma. If that was not a big issue, the repair of the soaked barn was going to be expensive and with such extensive damage, it may be condemned and torn down. The rainstorms were so heavy the roof was bowed so low it looked like it would fall in at any moment. After a long day of chores and mulling over what he should do, Jim decided on the best tactic. He would have Bobby come get Bertha and sell her. Bobby could sell anything, a top salesman for Jones' Deere Farm Equipment in the next town. Jim was sure his son could take that burden off of his shoulders. For the soaked barn, he would call his college buddy, Johnny Decker, who was the best carpenter in the county. Johnny would be honest and recommend the next course of action taking the decision-making responsibility off of Jim's mind. He remembered his wife's former manager telling her to delegate, delegate, delegate! He chose tax day arbitrarily. As it turns out, all was resolved on April 10th, his birthday. |
