So this is the first entry on my blog. Also, first-time blogger. My purpose? To get my story published, of course! I've spent decades writing, rewriting, editing, and reediting. Then rewriting again. I think I've finally gotten to the point where I need a real editor or at least a Literary Agent. Problem: I have no idea how to reach the right ones. Oh, I've reached the wrong ones just fine. Tried a website called firstediting.com- they weren't horrible, but they didn't hit the mark either. I spent 3,000 buck-os and am right back where I started, plus a little wisdom. I learned about the different types of editors. I asked for a story edit in my naive way, though I didn't use those exact words. What I got first was a copy edit. When I explained that wasn't what I wanted yet- they had a short phone call where the editor basically told me it was all good. I pointed out a few things I thought were off, and they agreed, but with no elaboration. When I pushed, he said: "Well, maybe a chapter from the villain's side?" That was the extent of my story edit. Plus, the copy edit was poor. Even I found additional mistakes when I got back the finished product. They did take it back and fix those and a few others, but overall, I was disheartened and discouraged. Since then, I've tried YouTube and multiple websites to try and figure out how to get the right people for the right jobs. So far, no luck. This blog will hopefully motivate me to get the job done.
Good for you!
I hope people give you good reviews and i hope that you get what your looking for on here. Otherwise i would say be on fox 4 news but don't give up, good luck.
So far received back one reply; of course, it was a no. Wating for the other reply.
Thought about writing but didn't. Mentally I did a little work on story content.
A day spent with mom driving around Farmington. Ate at Red Lobster, and had extreme surf and turf- lobster, scallops warped in bacon, and a steak. No writing, but had an idea for a short. Man walking his dog, the dog is attacked by a flying creature. wings become a hard shell as it digs into the neck of the dog like a tick.
