Ouch

There's a red glow in the gloom,
enough to light up the room,
and I fear I may have awoken
all sleepers from here to Hoboken.

With my cries of utter despair,
I think I have shattered the air -
my oaths are anything but dumb
when the hammer connects with my thumb.
