FLECKSOF VARIED COLORS A blog and a collection of things gathered into one.
Well here I am, trying to think of something interesting to write and put in this blog. Honestly, I've always wanted and liked to do a blog yet blogging doesn't seem to like me. I created Flecks of Varied Colors to showcase my works and writings of various genres. I chose this title because my proposed contents for this blog are mainly scribbles, poetry compositions, life events and happenings, and anything you might find pointless. So read at your own risk.
I don't know if it's best to include my compositions here, but I'll give it a try. Perhaps, I will use this as a daily or weekly journal of things, happenings and events that I find interesting. Well maybe just anything I can think of. By the way, English is my third language and I'll do my best to make things clear and comprehensible. If you found something off the hook, please don't hesitate to inform me. I'd really appreciate it if you do so.
Ah, it is hard to read this piece as it reminds me of the people begging at so many street corners near where I live.
Begging children are less common, or maybe just less visible.
I am grateful that some charitable organizations are trying to change these young ones lives: Samaritan's purse, Compassion international, CURE hospitals, etc.
It is not enough and the need feels overwhelming.
Thank you for speaking of the need and bringing it to light again.
Thanks K! Yeah she had it recorded in her phone, thus, the background noise. It was actually a video of herself singing the song with our old guitar. I only converted the video to audio. You can see the video of her in my FB account.
Novallas is a very small place (baranggay, located in the remote place of Tanjay City. You wouldn't find it in Google map. But I checked Google Earth and it's in there.
JanayJanay, I've never been in that place but San Jose is a town in between Dumaguete and Tanjay (From Dumaguete, there's the town of Sibulan, and then San Jose, and then Amblan, then Tanjay). So, I certainly pass across San Jose every time I go home. Guess, it's something I need to check and visit anytime soon.
Talent runs in your family. I really like the lyrics. I do write poems for friends and want to write a song as well. My voice however... I listened to the mp-3 link (it would be nicer without the background noise).
OT: I looked up Novallas on the map. Not much there? My friend worked in JanayJanay (San Jose) 20 years ago. I see that it's between Tanjay and Dumaguete. She wanted to know whether you knew about it. Do you? It seems to be a small out-of-the-way place like Novallas.
Yes, you did make it! I've had fun blogging with you and I hope you continue to write something every day. Thank you for your participation in the 30 Day Blogging Challenge.
You are very fluent in English. Fewer mistakes then I make in my second language, Spanish.
Just found a quirky spell-check on line for Norwegian (There are two versions; I use nynorsk) and should see whether any of the Spanish spell-checkers are good. Grammarly can help with English. I'd use it if I were writing essays. It might be helpful with writing stories or novels. Poetry? We break rules.
If you can... write a short blog entry every day (don't wait for a challenge or prompts) even if you don't have much to say. Common every day life is best as that's the vocabulary people use when speaking. Describe your job, what you cook, what you wear, how you live, your apartment, your family, your friends. Anything on your mind will do. What may seem boring to you won't be to your readers.
In Philippines I might prefer a mountain village because heat and taffic don't thrill me. I live in the center of a small mountain city now. I can walk most anyhere. It's a quiet city. The last year though has been horrible.
I've lived in small towns ... when I had a car. I loved the open spaces. I loved the prairies ... grass, corn, wheat, as far as one could see.
