Welcome to my blog: I intend to share heartfelt writing about anything that comes to mind. |
We finally made it to the last day of 2024. I have to say, this is one year that I am so glad to be done with. I am hoping for better days in 2025. I was out of some medications for the last couple of weeks. Then I saw my primary doctor today and got some refills. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I won't feel as drained. I have a few hopes for this new year. I will write a little more about that tomorrow. I can't say they are resolutions, but I definitely have set some new goals for myself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: Do you view yourself as worthy of forgiveness or are you unable to push past guilt? I can push past guilt, but am I ever "worthy" of forgiveness? I can accept the gift of forgiveness even though I am not worthy of it. It's called grace. I think mercy and grace go hand in hand. It's hard to have one without the other. Prayer prompt: Pray for the strength of Christian families, that they would be the foundation of our society. Dear God, Please strengthen Christian families. Help them to be the foundation of our society. Give them the strength to be leaders and to stand up and stand for what they believe in. In Christ's name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use these words in your entry: Baby New Year, happy, and lost. Happy Baby New Year! Hope is not lost! (short, sweet, and to the point) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt: What impresses you the most and how about the role that a certain activity (sports, theater books, music, etc.) has had on your life? And can you predict what will impress you in 2025? This is not something I have given much thought. I won't know what will impress me until it does so. LOL And obviously, even then I may not notice. Hmmm! I think I am most impressed by inspirational stories and the same will continue to impress me in the years to come, at least that is what I am assuming. |
I didn't write anything yesterday. I took a much-needed rest break. I had a bad headache and slept most of the day. Today is a new day though, right? I am in the process of getting my Tupperware business relaunched. I am thinking about keeping a blog on here about it so I can share my struggles and triumphs and also have a place to review what I am doing to determine if I need to make changes or not. It would be a good way to reflect. Plus, it would be a way that others can see and understand the struggles of Multilevel Marketing/Direct sales business. I don't think it is impossible. It can be difficult and take a lot of work. It's not for everyone. But for some people it's just what they need. It is an interesting and insightful experience. I seem to like to share about the rest of my life on here. Why not share about that too? Maybe some of you have experience or insights that will help me out or maybe my experiences can enlighten and encourage you. Who knows? Today, I am just working on the computer. I may do some housework later. There is so much that I want to accomplish. I have many plans and ideas. I will probably write about some here on WDC, while others will be done by hand. I hope to keep some records of a lot of things so that I can hopefully improve from them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: What do you think of when you hear about the Bible and new beginnings? I think of the hope we have through Salvation. Christ died so we could be born again, AKA new beginning. 2 Corinthians 5:17 King James Version 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Prayer prompt: Pray for those who may be afflicted with addictions. Dear God, I pray for those who are afflicted with addictions. I pray that you will help them to realize that they have one and what it is doing to their life. Please, give them the strength and willpower to put an end to that negative addiction and cycle that goes with it. Send you healing. In Jesus' name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Write a story or poem about a New Year party with an unexpected guest. Hmmm! This could be a pleasant or not so pleasant thing. LOL There are many possibilities that have crossed my mind right now. Aliens, ghosts, angels, Jesus, other religious figures, Father time, mother nature, and the list goes on and on with so many options... Let's see here! What should I decide on? The Unexpected Guest I went to a church fellowship with my family one day. All the festivities were beginning to get under way. Church members were welcoming each other with lots of cheer. Everyone was excited getting ready to welcome the new year. Tables were adorned with many wonderful treats and sweets. There were homemade dishes and all good things to eat. Board games were being played by all the youth, And resolutions being shared at a decorated booth. Dancing and festive music was filling the air, While some people were grabbing themselves a chair. In walked a man and everything came to a sudden stop. He wasn't well dressed, and you could hear a pen drop. The man smelled of Alcohol with holes in his clothes. His shoes were ragged and out hung his toes. The pastor approached him to see what he wanted here. The man wanted warmth and to witness all the cheer. He hadn't eaten in many days and was hoping to eat his fill The pastor was hesitant but asked the crowd what they would will A young child ran up to the man and gave him a tug. With a tear in his eye, the man gave the child a hug. The child led the man to a table and helped him fill a plate with food. Some of the adults watched and thought it to be very rude. A woman spoke up and voiced her objection to this intrusion. While the pastor seemed humbled by the child's inclusion. The pastor demanded their guest be given all he had need of. Christ had died for him, and they needed to show him that love. The heart of the people did change that day, And their new year began in a whole different way. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt: Worldview A worldview is a person's or society's fundamental way of thinking about the world, including their knowledge, culture, and point of view. Do you ever challenge your own worldview or any other views? And have you ever replaced them? I always try to think outside the box because nothing is ever what it may seem on the surface. There is always some kind of back story or something behind it. I am not afraid to think for myself. I tend to challenge the truth because if it is truly true, truth doesn't change. I may adjust my views as needed based upon my findings and/or observations. |
Today didn't go completely as planned. I was soooo tired. The dogs kept me up until around 3:30 am and that wore me out. It's not fun when the dogs are restless. As a result, I was off to a slow start and had a very hard time getting awake this morning. We ran a few errands. I am working on my Bible study with Sharmelle and am trying to get my Tupperware business back in action and to hit a sales goal. I have lots of work around the house to try to get done in the near future also. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: Do you show your real self to others, or do you put on a performance? (Back story: I am a preacher's kid. As a child, I had to be careful about the image I gave out because it affected the way everyone saw my dad the preacher. As I got older, I hated it. I hated hiding who I truly was and as a result, I tend to have a reputation among church people as a bit of a rebel.) I am not going to pretend to be something I am not. What you see is what you get. I am sorry if you think I am a bit of a rebel. I am not a goody two shoes either. I am never going to be able to be perfect. Why pretend to be? I am a sinner. That is why I need my Jesus. I don't use it as an excuse to sin, but I won't deny that I have my faults either. I sent out a prompt that is a touchy subject for me. LOL And then I noticed the prayer prompt. Oops! LOL Yeah, I have my faults. I do have some bitterness towards my parents for certain things that occurred in my life. This is an area that God has to work with me in regularly. Prayer prompt: Pray for God’s healing of your heart if there is any bitterness in you toward someone in your life. Dear God, Please heal my heart of this bitterness that I have towards my parents. I desire to fully forgive them. I don't want to harbor this in my heart. I wish things were different, but how do I deal with this reality. I loved them so much, but you know how crazy and dysfunctional our relationship was. Please, help me to finish processing these emotions and to put the negative feelings to rest. Please remove any bitterness towards other people in my life that exists also. In Jesus' name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have fun with this prompt: The molasses cookies have gone missing except for several crumbs....it's your entry tell us what happened or who done it. The molasses cookies have gone missing except for several crumbs? I was hoping to take a taste of those. They looked so good. How disappointing! Oh well, at least I can taste the crumbs. (Takes some crumbs with my fingers.) Mmmm! They are good. Maybe I can have some more when there are more made. I hope it's soon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today is National Card Playing Day. What card games do you enjoy? Do you ever play cards for money? My mother actually believed playing cards even without betting on them was a sin. My dad would often play solitaire behind her back though. I don't believe playing cards is a sin. I also don't necessarily believe gambling in itself is a sin. I think it has to do with the thought and intent of the heart and if you are being irresponsible with your money and the gifts that God has given you. My favorite card game is blackjack. I have never played for money, but sometimes I wonder how I would do. I can do well on virtual card games and computer games. However, I worry about the poker face. My face tends to talk even though my mouth doesn't say a word. LOL |
I rejoined Tupperware today as a consultant! This also helps with the Bible study with Sharmelle's Welcome 2025 because I am able to have a Zoom membership with it for just a few more dollars a month that I can use with the Bible study as well as for Tupperware parties and communication. I am excited about it. Now to take everything I have learned over the last couple of years and put it into practice and focus on one business. It's going to be a new year and new goals and renewed hopes for the future. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: When you repent, do you make a commitment to not repeat the sin? Does your own sins grieve you? Why or why not? I certainly do try to aim to not do it again. I don't always trust my human nature though. Yes, my own sins grieve me. Did you know the Bible says that even the thought of sin is a sin? Ouch! I wish I could be and do better. Prayer prompt: Pray for the Lord’s comfort toward those who are facing the loss of someone they loved. Dear God, Please be with those who need your comfort in facing the loss of someone they loved. It's so hard to lose someone any time of year. It makes the holidays harder. Send comfort to them and their family. In Jesus' name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"January is the perfect time to reset, recharge, and renew your focus on what truly matters" or "January reminds us that we have 12 new chapters to fill. Make the most of each one". Choose whichever quote inspires you to write about in your entry today. I love the first quote. That is kind of my attitude because why not? It is always good to review your own self, mistakes, things done well, things that need improvement, etc... Some people do weekly, daily, or monthly reviews too. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have fun with these words: explode, promote, reasonable, density, composition, compose, moment, prediction, reconcile and shallow. It is a reasonable prediction that things will explode with shallow comments and actions. It is better to promote peace! We need to take a moment to compose ourselves. We need to reconcile with those we have wronged. We can consider the density of our composition. Marvilla Philosophy 101 LOL |
Today, I worked a little around the house. Not much else is really going on today. It's kind of dreary outside. It's been raining over the last few days. Yesterday, I posted on Facebook that someone must have ordered snow but it melted before it got here because it was raining instead. LOL ====================== Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: Who do you connect to most in the Bible? Why? Answer: Ruth because Ruth is my middle name. Also, David has always been my favorite Bible character since I was a child. Prayer prompt: Pray for the leaders of the world, country, and state, who are responsible for decisions that affect communities, families, and individuals daily. Dear God, Sometimes, it is hard to know how to pray for our leaders especially in the day we are living in. Sometimes it is even hard to know who is really leading the world, the country and our state. Whoever, it is, please, be with them. Let your hand be upon them that they may make good decisions and make good laws for the good of the people every day. In Jesus name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you a binger watcher when it comes to streaming series on television? Or a binge reader when it comes to book series? I am not usually a binge watcher. I do tend to get into Untold Stories of the ER or Billy the Exterminator though. I enjoy reality tv or educational shows. I am more of a binge reader than watcher. I love the 39 clues series. Also, I enjoy most series written by Gilber Morris. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt: Write about your Christmas or anything about Christmas. Merry Christmas! We had cake and ice cream, but no one really felt like doing anything else. We had talked about watching Christmas movies of playing some video games or something, but none of that happened. Everyone seems to have a cold of something today. We all pretty much just stayed in bed and relaxed. I had hoped to have more of a birthday celebration for Jesus, but I don't think anyone else in the house had the same idea as I did. Oh well, I tried. Maybe next year will go better. 2023 and 2024 have been a couple of rough years. Next week starts 2025. I am definitely hoping for a better year. I guess without the rough years, we wouldn't appreciate the good years as much though. I guess such is life. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: Write about birthday celebrations and how your Christmas celebration is different or similar to your own birthday celebration or that of friends and loved ones. Answer: We all know that when we celebrate our own birthdays, other people wish us a Happy Birthday and give us gifts. Normally, people give each other gifts for Christmas. Each of us celebrate them in our own way. We may go out to eat for our birthday or do something special. On Christmas, most of us focus on getting together with family and some of us have special holiday meals. Prayer prompt: Pray for those who are missing loved ones this holiday season. Dear God, Please be with those missing loved ones this time of year and those that feel lonely. Help them to not feel so alone. Reveal your presence to them. In Jesus' name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's Christmas Eve 2024! Wow! Where has this year gone? Did I blink or something? I was feeling so exhausted today. I pretty much just rested. I needed it. I will try to have more to say for tomorrow. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: What does Jesus mean to you? Answer: I cannot and don't even want to imagine a world without him. I love him with all my heart. He is my everything. Prayer prompt: Pray God’s word takes root in your heart and the heart of others who hear or read the word of God whether in their personal quiet time or through the message of someone else. Dear God, I pray your Word takes root in the heart of the people who read your word and hear it. I pray that it grows in my own as well. Let people realize what the real meaning of Christmas is. In Jesus' name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Write about the best present you received as a child. I got a lot of gifts as a child. One that really stands out in my memories is when I got my hoppity horse. I road that thing to staves. Poor thing. It's hard to pick a favorite though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt: A New Holiday Tradition Did you ever think of starting a new holiday tradition? Which kinds of new traditions would make you feel happy and excited? I was always trying different things throughout the years. Sometimes my family liked it and others not so much. LOL I think I always want to celebrate Jesus' birth. Anything else is icing on the cake for me. I have always had an adventurous spirit. This year, my roommate, her brother, and I are having a birthday party for Jesus. I love the idea and may decide to do this from now on. |
Today was kind of busy. I had to take my roommate to the dr. Then we had to get medicine from the pharmacy and go to the store. The line was crazy long at the checkout. Then I had some work to do around the house. I am tired and glad today is over. Now for the holiday. I am feeling like a scrooge this year. I am sorry. I will be so glad when this holiday is over with. I am just going through some personal emotional stuff right now and am having a hard time with it this year. I am still trying to make the most of it though. I did get a blessing at the grocery store though. I had given the cashier the last of my money to cover my bill, and the lady behind me gave me a $20 bill and wished me a Merry Christmas. God has still blessed me this year regardless of how I am feeling. He knows my heart. I did get a couple of gifts this year when I didn't expect any, so I can't really complain. I am just missing my immediate family dearly this year. I feel like a lost puppy dog. I will be okay eventually. My roommate, her brother, and I plan to have a little cake and ice cream for Christmas and have a little birthday party for Jesus. I would rather celebrate Jesus any way. I actually love this idea as opposed to exchanging gifts between us. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Blog Prompt: Do you take your faith and the faith of others into consideration when consuming media? (TV, movies, music, podcasts, books, etc.) Write about this in your blog entry for today. Answer: When I am with other people, I try to take that into consideration. When I am on my own, I like to form my own opinions about things so I may or may not watch something questionable or controversial to others. My faith is always in the back of my mind at least and I do make decisions based upon it. However, I can't say that I fit the mold of what others think. I will watch documentaries or read material about other faiths and such to educate myself about them. This last story that I wrote for nano was a different type than I am used to. I tried to keep religious references out of it and that was difficult for me to do because it is a very big part of my life. I learned from the experience. Prayer prompt: That the church would look different from the world. That it truly be the light of the world, drawing sinners like ourselves to it so that they can meet with Jesus, the Savior of their souls. Dear God, Please, let the church lead others to the true light of the world. Let the church look more like you than the world. Let them lead others to yourself and truly introduce Jesus to sinners. In Christ's name, Amen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is your number 1 goal for 2025? To take better care of myself is my number 1 priority for 2025. When you are a caregiver, it is easy to neglect yourself. I have done that a bit this year and it shows. It's time I care about myself and my own health as much as I care about other people's or I won't be able to take care of others. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prompt: Gifts Do you believe some gifts, like a Christmas gift, can have the power to bring out the best in their receivers? And what kinds of gifts can do that? I think some gifts can bring out the best in their receivers. The gift of Christ and Salvation to the world is a very good example of this. I think gifts should always aim to improve or bring out the good in people. |
It's my birthday, again! I made it to 48! Today didn't go as I planned it at all, but such is life, I guess. At least I got to turn another year older. I did get to go out to eat at Burger King and got to post a picture with my crown on Facebook. |
