I have never really been able to write every day. I probably won't be able to do it now. I would like to write on a more regular basis. This blog is an attempt to develop a more regular writing habit. I can't guarantee an entry every day.
My husband had a friend who was tall and thin. They called him "slinky." He tolerated that for quite some time. I don't know if anyone still calls him that because we've lost touch. But I never thought about whether or not it might have bothered him.
I agree, people usually appreciate the effort even if you get some things wrong. I think the only way to actually learn another language is to get past the fear of sounding stupid. Confidence just comes with time. Keep at it!
Whenever I encounter a person for which English is a second language, I admire the effort and courage.
Via Etsy, I purchased a Charles Bukowski doll from a fellow in Ukraine. We exchanged notes. I told him I admired the courage and resilience of Ukrainians, and he wrote back a personal note in broken English. That was nice.
Our lives on earth are but a grain of sand in the grand scheme of things. Your wife is part of the Universe now and I'm sure she only wants you to be happy. Since the Universe doesn't judge, rest assured your wife is not judging you.
Be kind to yourself and stay in the present, look for the positives.
