Part of the reason I like the new house is that it's kind of weird and I've never been an average gal. The more I clean and move stuff, the more discoveries I make. Here are some examples of my interesting house:

*Donut7* One downstairs bedroom is painted lavender and the other wine.
*Donut7* There's a neat little door under the stairs for storage, but it's three feet tall, so I have to actually get on the floor to be able to use it. Once on the floor, you can see shelving and what looks like a towel rack inside.
*Donut7* There's another door under the stairs that appears to be a pantry, but it has an electrical outlet inside.
*Donut7* Halfway up the stairs, there's a door that opens to a storage area.
*Donut7* Upstairs closet number one has a small door on the back wall that leads to the same storage area.
*Donut7* There is an attic opening in the ceiling of the upstairs room, which is odd since that room was originally the attic.
*Donut7* Bedroom number one has what I can only describe as a dumb waiter. Except that it's not. You can slide the door open, but it's just a box to nowhere.
*Donut7* Inside the closet of bedroom number 1, there's an electrical outlet on the sidewall, above my head.
*Donut7* In the same closet, the back wall has a small latched opening that opens next to the toilet in the bathroom.
*Donut7* Bedroom number two has a narrow door that conceals a pull-down ironing board.
*Donut7* Under the above, an inch from the floor is a small door that reveals two shelves and an electrical outlet.
*Donut7* Bedroom number two also has a closet that contains the furnace. Behind it, this area opens up and turns into a utility closet in the kitchen.
*Donut7* There are access panels on the floor of both bedrooms and the living room that leads to a crawl space under the house. I've never seen a house with three.
*Donut7* Both downstairs bedroom have latches on the inside and the outside of the door.

I know I've left a few things out and I'm sure I'll find new oddities before the weekend is done, but it's easy to see why my imagination runs wild. I've got to take some pictures when I'm over there today. I feel like a kid allowed to snoop through the forbidden house down the road.

When we got married six years ago, we didn't have many belongings. Corey had lost everything in a fire, not that there was much to his apartment anyway. My ex-husband had been too busy screwing around to pay the fees at the storage place that held everything but our clothes. Since it was another state, I was clueless until I went to bring it to Texas. Shocked doesn't cover how I felt when the owner told me he sold everything at auction. My second marriage was truly a new beginning. Since 2014, I have somehow I have managed to amass enough crap to fill our house without realizing it.

I'm tired, ya'll.

With the hubs working 6 pm to 6 am, we've barely managed to get two loads of stuff a day in my Ford Edge. I'd say we're halfway there. This weekend will be a madhouse as we try to finish up with my mom's truck- in the rain. I'm also pretty sure I left my phone at the other house because I haven't seen it since 10am. I hope I don't have withdrawals. I'm exhausted and if I'm not careful I'll end up using all my spoons before Saturday. I'll need all the energy I can muster. Hell, I didn't even realize what day of the week it was until three hours ago. I was going to get on here and reply to emails and comments, but I just can't. I'm crawling into my cool, comfy bed until Ravyn wakes me up tomorrow.

I know we have until the 28th to be out of this house, but I was aiming for earlier so we can settle in before Christmas. My original date of the 14th is laughable if we keep going at this rate. One. One load of stuff moved over the weekend. Why must everything go wrong?
The property management company asked me to do a walkthrough and fill out a form about the condition. Except that I didn't realize they think the house is move-in ready. There are inches of dust, and I spotted mouse droppings. So, obviously, it needs cleaning. Plus, the little attic storage rooms have someone's stuff in them. That's not really a bother; I plan on padlocking them anyway. But the garage..is an abandoned man cave. I wouldn't park my car in it because it honestly doesn't look too sturdy, but apparently, the owner left his stuff, and the previous tenants didn't mind since they didn't use it. And I'm supposed to do the same.
On Thursday, I was told a cleaning lady would show up Friday or more than likely on Saturday to give it a once over. When I went over Saturday night, the house was still unlocked and dirty. I don't know what to do, but I am pissed. When you move out of a rental, you're supposed to leave it spotless. So why should I clean it to move in? And why is the owner's stuff now my problem? It's not looking so good. I'm trying not to be That Bitch. But I just paid $2400 to move into a dirty house and was told I couldn't use the garden shed or two-car garage. What the hell? Of course, it's not like I can just move somewhere else.
It took us a year to find this place, and we can barely afford it. I'm aware that the house isn't worth a grand a month, but we're also paying for location. Muenster is a small German Catholic town of 1500. There's rarely crime, and it's a very tight-knit community. Our house is right on the corner of Main Street, diagonal from Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Girls School. Being on Main, we can walk down to Fischer's Meat Market for groceries, the barbershop (complete with pole), Doc's Bar & Grill, Town Hall, etc. It's an old-money town that's difficult to get into if you don't have family there already. Most houses are passed down. Renting one out is just not done. Yeah, we're going to fit in just fine. Heaven helps us.
So I'm sitting here with my coffee thinking about what to say to the realtor when I call, and I can't come up with a damn thing except fuck your rules; I'm shoving all that junk to the curb.
It's going to be a long day.
