Part of the reason I like the new house is that it's kind of weird and I've never been an average gal. The more I clean and move stuff, the more discoveries I make. Here are some examples of my interesting house:

One downstairs bedroom is painted lavender and the other wine.
There's a neat little door under the stairs for storage, but it's three feet tall, so I have to actually get on the floor to be able to use it. Once on the floor, you can see shelving and what looks like a towel rack inside.
There's another door under the stairs that appears to be a pantry, but it has an electrical outlet inside.
Halfway up the stairs, there's a door that opens to a storage area.
Upstairs closet number one has a small door on the back wall that leads to the same storage area.
There is an attic opening in the ceiling of the upstairs room, which is odd since that room was originally the attic.
Bedroom number one has what I can only describe as a dumb waiter. Except that it's not. You can slide the door open, but it's just a box to nowhere.
Inside the closet of bedroom number 1, there's an electrical outlet on the sidewall, above my head.
In the same closet, the back wall has a small latched opening that opens next to the toilet in the bathroom.
Bedroom number two has a narrow door that conceals a pull-down ironing board.
Under the above, an inch from the floor is a small door that reveals two shelves and an electrical outlet.
Bedroom number two also has a closet that contains the furnace. Behind it, this area opens up and turns into a utility closet in the kitchen.
There are access panels on the floor of both bedrooms and the living room that leads to a crawl space under the house. I've never seen a house with three.
Both downstairs bedroom have latches on the inside and the outside of the door.

I know I've left a few things out and I'm sure I'll find new oddities before the weekend is done, but it's easy to see why my imagination runs wild. I've got to take some pictures when I'm over there today. I feel like a kid allowed to snoop through the forbidden house down the road.
